Association of Medical Doctors UK is offering single and group placements for medical students for 6 weeks in British hospitals.
We receive applications throughout the year and offer placements in both medicine and surgery. The students will have the chance to acquaint themselves with the methods of diagnostics and management currently used in British Healthcare system.
If you wish to apply you need to put your application in writing and state which area of medicine and which exact dates you would prefer.
The letter of application should be supported by the following documents:
·                  Completed application form
·                  Letter of recommendation from Dean of University on University letter headed paper.
Successful applicants will be registered as students here for the time of their elective visit and will be given access to the following facilities:
·                  Computer account with email
·                  Access to library facilities
·                  Access to sports facilities
·                  Access to all student facilities
Regarding accommodation, we have a limited amount of self-catering rooms available in the hospital residences and places will be allocated to students confirming in writing with the appropriate fee and all health and reference checks satisfactory completed.
For students not benefiting from this accommodation, arrangements will be made for them to stay in the student residences situated within the walking distance to the hospital.
The placement fee includes:
·                  placement search in British hospitals
·                  application process and paperwork related to student practice
·                  registration fee
·                  visa support
·                  accommodation arrangements (accommodation cost is not included in the service fee and should be paid extra)
For group applications airport transfer and local sightseeing trips can be arranged.
We would like to stress that we receive an enormous number of applications for elective period and although we do our best to accommodate as many as we can, we arrange attachments on first come first served bases.

Extra cost:
1.    Accommodation  from 15 pounds per day
2.    Food                   5 pounds per week
Association of Medical Doctors UK also provides the following services:
·                  medical attachments for overseas doctors in British hospitals for the period of 4-6 weeks
·                  assistance in medical registration with the General Medical Council of the UK for overseas doctors wishing to work or take up a paid training programme in the UK
·                  job search for medical doctors and nurses after registration
·                  assistance with medical registration with Nursing Medical Council of the UK for overseas qualified nurses wishing to work in the UK
·                  adaptation programmes for overseas qualified nurses with UK registration
·                  short training course for doctors of all specialties (up to 5 days)
